The Centre of Excellence for Black Student Achievement is the first of its kind in public education in Canada. The Centre of Excellence is dedicated to improving the experiences and outcomes for Black students and aims to be responsive to the voices of Black communities who continue to advocate for systemic change within educational institutions and for dismantling anti-Black racism at the 污污漫画.

The creation of the Centre of Excellence for Black Student Achievement was approved by Trustees with the 污污漫画 in June 2020 and officially launched a year later with a virtual celebration in June 2021. Winston Churchill Collegiate Institute is the official location of the Centre of Excellence for Black Student Achievement and its grand opening was held in-person and virtually in June 2022.
