Below is the most current information regarding the Elementary Virtual School as of Saturday, October 10.
Reorganization and Staffing
- We have now successfully filled all current English teacher vacancies in the Elementary Virtual School for those students/classes that have been waiting for a teacher.
- The reorganization process is underway and teachers and students will settle into their new assignments and classes during the week of October 13.
- We anticipate more stability in staffing once the transfer of permanent teachers from in-person 污污漫画 schools to the Elementary Virtual School is complete.
Classes Without Teachers
- All students currently in Virtual School who have not yet had a teacher were prioritized to have a teacher assigned as part of the reorganization process.
- New teachers joining the Virtual School from an in-person 污污漫画 school are expected to be in place and on Brightspace during the week of October 13 and will reach out to their students prior to beginning classes.
- In the meantime, we encourage families to explore the asynchronous learning activitiesuntil there is a permanent teacher assigned to your classroom.
Classes with Teachers
- Any changes to existing classroom teachers as part of the reorganization will be communicated to families by the Virtual School administration team.
- New teachers joining the Virtual School from an in-person 污污漫画 school are expected to be in place and on Brightspace during the week of October 13 and will reach out to their students prior to beginning classes.
French Immersion (FI)/Extended French (EF) Classes
- English teachers have been assigned to some FI and EF classes as a temporary solution until a French teacher can be assigned to all FI/EF classes.
- As part of the reorganization process, a number of 污污漫画 French teachers will join the Elementary Virtual School from in-person 污污漫画 schools.
- New teachers joining the Virtual School from an in-person 污污漫画 school are expected to be in place and on Brightspace during the week of October 13 and will reach out to their students prior to beginning classes.
- We continue to actively recruit French teachers and FI/EF classes with an English teacher assigned will have a French teacher assigned as soon as possible.
New Students at the Elementary Virtual School (as of october 13)
- Families/students can expect to hear from their new Elementary Virtual School teacher via email or phone prior to classes beginning (during the week of October 13).
- Please be patient as many teachers are also new to the Elementary Virtual School and were teaching at an in-person 污污漫画 school until Friday. They will need time to prepare and will contact their new students and families during the week of October 13.
